I like to introduce young pups to birds early.  It is key that this be a fun experience for the pup.  I generally let the pup have his way with one bird any somewhere around 9-10 weeks old.  I don’t care if he chases, catches, or even eats it.  I just want the pup to be excited about birds.  After this one time of letting the pup do what he wants, subsequent bird contacts will be more controlled and on a check cord.

Here’s our newest pup Otis (from Lola’s recent litter) with his “First Bird”. He’s plenty bold. I’m excited about this one.

Maggie, Emma, and BC (Big Cooper) are coming along nicely with some great owners.  Look at those tails!  Really wish there had been more than just three in that litter.  Sadly Tina passed away this winter and we won’t get a chance at another litter.  Great job folks.  Keep me posted.  I’d like to continue adding photos as they grow and develop.

They are going to be awesome this fall!

Here’s another video I created for fun and to help those picking their puppies decide which one is best for them. Click Here for details on this litter.

Here’s a video I took of Lola’s pups to help those who are buying pups decide which one they might like.  This litter has been doing great.  Tons of potential.  Looks like Otis is staying with us.  I’m excited to see what he will do as he grows and develops.

Friday, our last pup was picked up by Jeremy King, of Alpine UT.  He’s excited about her and looking forward getting her into some field trials.  We’re looking forward to seeing her adventures with Jeremy.  He’s named her “Maggie” and wants to register her as “Attitude’s Call Girl”.  Have fun and good luck with Maggie!

Sunday we got to send our Black and White Female puppy home with Jared Moss from Best Gun Dogs in Beaver, UT.  We are excited to see what Jared will be able to do with this fine young pup.  Good luck with the dog and keep us informed on her successes.  This pup will be co-owned with Jon Lee of Annabella Kennels.

We said goodbye to the big black and white male pup from Tina’s litter.  He’s off to Kemmerer, Wyoming with the Roberts Family.  He’ll get to hunt a lot of Sage Grouse, and will make frequent trips to South Dakota to hunt pheasants.  Sounds like he’ll even get a shot at some field trials.  He’s going to to nice folks.  He’s got it made.  Enjoy the “Fat Boy”.

These pointer puppies are 7 weeks old and almost ready to go to their new homes.  I am excited about all three of them.  They have really grown in the past two weeks.  They are bold as can be and really enjoy being around people.  We’ve found some great owners for each of these dogs.  I am looking forward to seeing what they will do in the future.

Honky Tonk Heartbreaker (Lola) has been bred to Ch. Idaho’s Lucky Strike (Ben).  This litter should be spectacular.  Pups will be $750.00.  I will accept deposits once I know the breeding took.

Ben is qualified for the National Championship this February at Ames.  We are looking forward to watching him run.

Some of his accomplishments include:

Ben is a 5X Champion.  Winner of California Quail Championship (National Championship Qualifier) winning the Region 9 Amateur All Age Ch., Region 9 Amateur Shooting Dog Ch., Region 10 Amateur All Age Ch., and the Pacific Coast Championship (National Championship qualifier), RU Champion Pacific Coast Championship. It is interesting to note that Ben is one of only 4 dogs to be amateur handled to his win of the Pacific Coast Championship in the more than 100 year history of that trial.

The pups are getting bold and independent.  They have now been started on puppy food.  I’ve been having a good time with these puppies.  The Black and White Male is still available!  He’s a firecracker and will make someone a great trial prospect or hunting partner.
